During the introductory course on law in IT contracts, the basic concepts of intellectual property with an emphasis on authorship and rights to computer programs will be explained. In the course, we will explain how to handle software development, both from the position of the buyer and the supplier. In the following part of the course, we shall discuss license agreements and how to correctly choose and set-up the best licensing model. In particular, we will explain to buyers in this section how to prevent vendor-locks during software purchases. In the last part of the course, we will discuss post-implementation support, software maintenance and how to ensure continuity of operations.
